Svilojevo Fish Farm lies by the southern end of the namesake village, about 6 kilometres southeast of Apatin. It consists of a series of lakes (shallower ones with exposed mud bars), overgrown by reed and bulrush. Spotting scope is recommended.

Birds to look for are Ferruginous Duck, Black and White Stork, Squacco and Black-crowned Night Herons, Western Marsh Harrier and White-tailed Eagle, Pied Avocet, Common Greenshank, Wood Sandpiper, Ruff, Dunlin and Little Stint, Whiskered Tern, European Bee-eater, Red-backed Shrike, Eurasian Panduline-Tit, Whitethroat, Whinchat, Stonechat, etc.

Getting there: Access is from the town of Apatin. The fish farm entrance gate is inside the right hand curve of the road after the village of Svilojevo. Fish farm is a private property and the Manager’s permission to visit is needed.

When to go: year-round. From late April, carry an insect repellent with you.
